Grilled “Sausage” and Apple Pizza
1 package of Pure Farmland Mild Italian Dinner “Sausage” Links
4 naan flatbreads
2 Tbsp. olive oil, for brushing
2 medium-size apples (pears as substitute)
Goat cheese, sprinkled to taste (mascarpone or mozzarella pearls as substitute) Baby arugula
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1½ Tbsp. balsamic vinegar (apple cider vinegar as substitute)
1-2 tsp. Dijon mustard
1½ – 2 tsp. honey
½ tsp. ground black pepper
Preheat grill pan over medium-high heat.
Prepare the apples— wash and cut apples into thin slices. Rinse arugula as well. Set aside.
Cook “sausage” links for 8 to 10 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 175°F, turning occasionally. Remove from grill and cut into ½-inch slices.
While “sausage” links cook, lightly brush flatbread on both sides with olive oil. Grill for about 2 minutes on each side, or until lightly charred.
Top flatbread with apples, cheese, and “sausage.” Grill assembled flatbread pizza for approximately 5 minutes, or until cheese is slightly melted.
While pizza is finishing, whisk together all honey balsamic vinaigrette dressing ingredients.
Remove pizzas from grill. Top with fresh arugula. Drizzle with honey balsamic vinaigrette. Enjoy!
